US Open, Qualification ATP: Marco Cecchinato vs Liam Broady

Marco Cecchinato76Game context
Liam Broady enters this US Open qualifying first-round matchup on hard courts as the consensus favorite due to stronger recent momentum and surface suitability. The British left-hander captured the 2026 Miyazaki Challenger title on hard courts and maintains competitive ranking proximity around 200 despite limited main-tour activity. Marco Cecchinato, ranked near 170, has posted inconsistent 2026 results with early exits and limited hard-court success in recent seasons. Their second career meeting favors Broady's experience in American swing qualifiers and slice-heavy game that can disrupt rhythm on the faster surface. No reported injuries or withdrawals alter the draw, leaving roster stability and current form as the dominant variables heading into the New York hard-court event.
