US Open, Qualification ATP: Vilius Gaubas vs Marco Cecchinato

Game context
Vilius Gaubas enters the US Open qualifying second round as the clear favorite against Marco Cecchinato on outdoor hard courts, with traders citing the 21-year-old Lithuanian’s higher ranking (No. 120), recent straight-sets win over Kilian Feldbausch, and successful Wimbledon qualifying run that reached the main draw. Gaubas has compiled a solid 2026 record and shown improved serve consistency on faster surfaces. Cecchinato, the 33-year-old Italian ranked No. 166 and a former top-16 player, advanced past Liam Broady but remains a clay-court specialist whose hard-court results have historically lagged; his recent form has been built primarily on clay challengers. The age gap, surface transition demands, and Gaubas’ momentum shape the current implied probabilities in this best-of-three encounter.
