ITF W35 Trieste Women: Matilde Paoletti vs Sophie Triquart

Game context
Matilde Paoletti enters this ITF W35 Trieste clay-court opener as the clear favorite against qualifier Sophie Triquart, reflecting her superior ranking (879 vs. 1,322), two prior ITF titles, and stronger recent form on the surface. The 23-year-old Italian reached the semifinals of the preceding W75 Kursumlijska Banja event, posting wins over Despina Papamichail, Elena Milutinovic, and Rada Zolotareva before falling to Mia Ristic. Triquart, a 15-year-old German, advanced through qualifying in Trieste with victories including against Gaeul Jang but has limited main-draw experience at this level and mixed results in prior 2026 clay events. Home-soil advantage and Paoletti’s established clay-court consistency shape trader consensus on the outcome.
