US Open, Qualification ATP: Luka Pavlovic vs Juan Pablo Varillas

Luka Pavlovic66³7Game context
Luka Pavlovic enters the US Open qualifying draw with a ranking advantage near 207 and recent hard-court exposure from prior Grand Slam attempts, giving traders reason to view him as the consensus favorite against the lower-ranked Juan Pablo Varillas. The 26-year-old Frenchman leads their head-to-head 1-0 after a three-set win on clay in 2025, though neither player has posted strong main-tour results this season. Varillas, now ranked around 236 and more accustomed to clay, has shown mixed form in recent Challengers. The hard-court surface at Flushing Meadows favors aggressive baseline play and strong serving, areas where Pavlovic has demonstrated better consistency in 2026. Any late fitness or scheduling adjustments could still shift implied probabilities in this first-round qualifier.
