US Open, Qualification ATP: Franco Roncadelli vs Elias Ymer

Game context
Elias Ymer holds a modest ranking edge at No. 212 over Franco Roncadelli’s No. 237 entering this US Open qualifying first-round hard-court matchup, with traders viewing the Swede’s greater ATP-level experience and career 54% win rate as the primary edge. Ymer arrives after a mixed 2026 campaign that includes recent hard-court challenger results and grass-season wins, though he has dropped several qualifying matches on faster surfaces. Roncadelli, a left-hander strong on clay where he posted a 2026 final and multiple Challenger victories, shows a weaker hard-court record and limited recent hard-court matches ahead of the New York event. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving surface adaptation and current form as the decisive variables for this best-of-three encounter.
