ITF W35 Trieste Women: Paula Ormaechea vs Iva Primorac

Game context
Paula Ormaechea, the 33-year-old Argentine veteran and former WTA top-60 player, faces 30-year-old Croatian Iva Primorac in the first round of the ITF W35 Trieste on clay. Ormaechea enters with a strong 10-4 clay record in 2026, including recent qualifier wins, while Primorac holds the higher current ranking near 436 but shows mixed results with several early exits on the surface. Both players compete right-handed on their preferred clay, where Ormaechea’s greater experience and prior success at higher levels contrast with Primorac’s more limited ITF consistency. The match marks their first meeting, with trader consensus reflecting Primorac’s ranking edge offset by Ormaechea’s proven clay form and the inherent variability of lower-tier ITF events.
