Chicago Cubs vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Game context
The Chicago Cubs (76-57) visit the Arizona Diamondbacks (70-63) on August 26 at Chase Field for the rubber match of their three-game series, with the season series standing 4-1 in Chicago's favor. Eduardo Rodriguez (13-4, 2.61 ERA) takes the mound for Arizona against Matthew Boyd (8-2, 4.15 ERA) for the Cubs, giving the Diamondbacks a clear edge in the probable pitching matchup despite both clubs carrying extensive injury lists that include multiple starters and relievers on the IL. The teams enter with comparable recent form near .500 over their last 10 games and sit in playoff positioning in their respective divisions, making situational factors such as home-field advantage, bullpen depth, and lineup health the primary variables likely shaping trader consensus on the outcome.
