Game context

Taisei Ichikawa enters this M25 Taipei 2 qualifying clash as the higher-ranked player with an ATP standing near the top 400 and prior Challenger-level experience, including a career-high doubles mark of 265. The 25-year-old left-hander has shown consistent results on hard courts in recent Japanese ITF events. Hiromasa Koyama, an 18-year-old ranked outside the top 1,100 with a career high of 1,083, brings limited senior-level matches and recent form primarily from lower-tier M15 events. Both competitors are Japanese and familiar with hard-court conditions in Taipei, though Ichikawa’s greater match volume and physical maturity represent the primary edge reflected in trader pricing. No notable injuries or withdrawals have been reported ahead of the scheduled start.
