Game context

The Houston Astros' 9-7 comeback win over the New York Yankees on August 25 featured Yainer Diaz's two home runs, Yordan Alvarez's go-ahead eighth-inning triple, and 14 total hits, snapping Houston's recent skid while exposing a rare Yankees bullpen collapse that surrendered six runs. At 66-66 and atop the AL West by a half-game, the Astros emphasize treating every contest like a playoff game amid a tight division race. The Yankees, at 74-57 and second in the AL East, carry multiple notable absences including Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton on the injured list, with probable starter Elmer Rodriguez facing Peter Lambert in the series continuation at Yankee Stadium. Recent form, home-road splits, and bullpen reliability shape trader consensus around this matchup.
