Game context
The Texas Rangers visit the Chicago White Sox on August 26 for the rubber match of a three-game series at Rate Field, with the White Sox holding a narrow AL Central lead at 69-63 while the Rangers sit at 66-67 in the AL West. MacKenzie Gore (7-9, 4.26 ERA) takes the mound for Texas opposite Sean Burke (7-6, 3.27 ERA) for Chicago. Both clubs carry extensive injured lists that have thinned their rotations and bullpens, including multiple starters on the IL. The White Sox have leveraged strong home performance and recent scoring outbursts, while the Rangers have shown resilience on the road despite a middling overall record. Recent series results and divisional positioning shape the current matchup dynamics ahead of the late-August slate.
